Jumbo

For many years, we had been thinking about building a Jumbo shaped guitar, but were not enamored of the larger jumbos like the Gibson J-200.  So, using an old "Small Jumbo" as his starting point, Charlie designed this guitar.  The shape is quite similar but the body is quite a bit thinner, front to back.  This seems to give the round warm sound of a wide (16") soundboard without any tendency to boominess or "thump."  This guitar is also exceptionally comfortable to hold for a 16" guitar.  Combine the thinner body with an arm rest, and it is very ergonomic, while still sounding like a big guitar.

This is also our first choice for a 12-string guitar.  The short scale version works very well for concert pitch or down a step, and if you want to go down to C# or C, we are happy to make it with a 25.4" scale as well.
